What is an Infidel?

The author, Rick Mathes, is a well-known leader in prison ministry. The man who walks with God always gets to his destination. If you have a pulse you have a purpose.   The Muslim religion is the fastest growing religion per capita in the United States , especially in the minority races.

Last month I attended my annual training session that’s required for maintaining my state prison security clearance. During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who each explained their beliefs.   I was particularly interested in what the Islamic Imam had to say. The Muslim gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, complete with a video.

After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers. When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Muslim and asked: ‘Please, correct me if I’m wrong, but I understand that most Imams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] against the infidels of the world and, that by killing an infidel, (which is a command to all Muslims) they are assured of a place in heaven.

If that’s the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?’  There was no disagreement with my statements and, without hesitation, he replied, ‘Non-believers!’   I responded, ‘So, let me make sure I have this straight. All followers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not of your faith so they can have a place in heaven. Is that correct?’   The expression on his face changed from one of authority and command to that of a little boy who had just been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.’   He sheepishly replied, ‘Yes.’

I then stated, ‘Well, sir, I have a real problem trying to imagine The Pope commanding all Catholics to kill those of your faith or Dr. Stanley ordering all Protestants to do the same in order to guarantee them a place in heaven!’

The Muslim was speechless.   I continued, ‘I also have a problem with being your friend when you and your brother clerics are telling your followers to kill me! Let me ask you a question:Would you rather have your Allah, who tells you to kill me in order for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to heaven and He wants you to be there with me?’

You could have heard a pin drop.   Needless to say, the organizers and/or promoters of the ‘Diversification’ training seminar were not happy with my way of dealing with the Islamic Imam, and exposing the truth about the Muslims’ beliefs.   In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in the U.S. to elect the President.

I think everyone in the U.S. should be required to read this, but with the ACLU, there is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on! This is your chance to make a difference.

  1. Let me set this clear never in my entire 25 YEARS OF BEING A MUSLIM HAVE I EVER HEARD THIS. For those who dont know muslims actually regard christinanity and other religions as the people of letters (commonly as they were scribes) and I was taugh in my islamic studies classes to respect other religions as “you would respect your own” a very fundamental Islamic teaching taught to children but ignored by the media. In Kenya its actually very common to see muslims and other religions in catholic schools and vice versa such as myself who attended a catholichigh school and we were very happy coexisting with respect and love. So I urge everybody do not be indoctrinated with fear over a religion that promotes peace. Every religion has its bad apples example the spanish inquisition. So to define 1.4 billion muslims as infidel killing practitioners is not only ignorant but as realistic as the weapons of mass destruction we went to get in Iraq blindingly following the media out of fear.

  2. What I get from this passage is that many people follow a certain type of religion, but not God per say. Many people want to fit into a category where they can feel accepted and make friends. However, many people do not see the deeper foundation of religion which is believing in a higher power. That is the problem that we have now. People follow religion and not the true meaning..God,being spiritual…

  3. I’m so sorry, but some of these people who commented on this sound extremely ignorant. Especially the girl who said all atheist need to shut up, and need to accept that this country was founded on Christianity? Ummmm….no. This country was founded on the premiss that one can believe and worship anything that they want. That’s what makes this country so amazing, is that I was able to switch from Catholicism to Atheism to Buddhism to Deist overnight; I can seriously be in whatever religion I want to believe in! That’s a freedom that few people in the world get to have! Now as for this Muslim extremist deal, not all Muslims believe that we need to kill the infidels. Let me put it this way, the Muslim Extremist are not apart of the Muslim Religion, no they are apart of a cult. I mean listen to the definition of what a cult is, “a small religious group that is not part of a larger and more accepted religion and that has beliefs regarded by many people as extreme or dangerous” (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/cult) Muslims are actually really cool and nice people, how do I know? I’ve met hundreds of them, I’ve befriended some, and I’ve even experimented with the religion by celebrating holidays with some. It’s the Muslim EXTREMISTS we need to watch out for; what they are doing is nothing different then what Jim Jones did to all his followers. I just think we need to learn that there is a strong difference between Islam and EXTREME Islam, and we need to stop lumping all Muslims in the category of extremist, that’s all.

  4. This is interesting the least to say. Its crazy to know what the Muslim faith promotes. I have nothing against other religions, but if this is their belief then I’m sorry that is not a religion.

  5. Everyone is entitled to their religion. Muslims are portrayed as bad guys in the media. But thats not true. There are Muslims out there that aren’t psycho crazed on a jihad. And if i’m not mistaken, didn’t Christianity have their holy war? Cru, Crusa- Crusad- something.

  6. How does a minister tell his followers to do such thing if anything how are they being religious.

  7. This is so crazy! People obviously should just the religion of their choice. But for any minister of any religion, they shouldnt ask their followers to commit such violent crimes, that would defeat the purpose of religion in general.

  8. That is absolutely outrages. Any religion that commands their followers to kill anyone who is not a believer is not doing what a religion should do. Everyone has the right to choose who they put their faith in.

  9. Being a Muslim is dangerous business because if they are out to just kill infidels, then they are going to have a serious problem with those of other faiths. Any person who is stereotyped as a Muslim is often watched closely and assumed to be a terrorist, and for good reason. Terror ma6y not necessarily be the main goal but that does not change the fact that they are out to murder innocent civilians who do not believe in the Muslim religion. There is no place for a religion of murderers in this country. Yes, we have a Constitution based on the freedom to believe and say what we choose but I don’t think “killing the infidels” was what our founding fathers had in mind.

  10. Props to the Minister for calling him out and making him admit his beliefs. I have to admit that hearing everyone say that not all Muslims are bad and that they aren’t all bombers is true. I don’t judge people by their religion or beliefs but you have to admit that if their religion calls for them to kill non believers than maybe Muslims being profiled isn’t so far off the mark. I do believe there are Muslims who are not radicals and try to live peacefully with everyone, it is a shame that our biggest disasters lately have been done to us by Muslim Radicals.

  11. Every person has the right to their beliefs but a religion that tells their followers to go kill any no believers is not a religion to follow.

  12. I believe that everyone should have the right to make their own decisions as long as there is good reasoning behind them and won’t hurt anyone. But everyone should be able to live with other religions without judgement.

  13. Any religion that encourages people to kill people is not a religion; that is what you would call a cult that promotes violence.

  14. Actually this country was not founded on Christianity, it was founded upon Religious Freedom, there were actually over a dozen different types of religions founded in this country before the revolution took place. Christianity is really just a umbrella term, because some may be derivatives of Christianity such as Episcopal Church, if anything, it’s that type of up in arm’s behavior that really causes these type of religious wars and violence in religion. Rick Mathes made a point, but getting up in arms isn’t the way this post should be followed up. -This was mainly a response the Daniel’s post simply because I agree with what Rick Mathes said and didn’t have much else to say, until I read the bottom comment which made me feel like perhaps the entire point could have been missed.

  15. Wow. Everyone should be able to make their own decisions, but with logic behind their choice. You must have reasons why you chose what you did. Don’t follow the patterns of everyone else, establish an opinion of your own!

  16. I feel that we should all be free to chose what religion we feel is best and not have to worry about being killed for our choice. its pretty scary that other countries are trying to treatin our freedom of religon.

  17. This country was founded on freedom of religion. All hail the flying spaghetti monster!

  18. During the past few days I have seen several influential members of the Muslim religion on TV. The ones I saw interviewed were not wild eyed radicals, but peaceful American citizens who don’t want to be associated with the Jihadists. The Imams in Boston have refused to buy the dead bomber in a Muslim ceremony and bury him in Boston. We shouldn’t make the Jihadists a stereotype for all Muslims. If thee ones who want a medieval theocracy should go and live in a country with people who believe like they do and leave America as a free nation snd let the American people worship as they wish! I think that the Imam who is recruiting volunteers for violence, should be sent to a Muslim country to live, where he will be comfortable with his life.

  19. At my church we preach to be “Coexistent” to live PEACEFULLY with all. Most Churches and temples say to spread the word, but threw peace. I could not associate with my church any more if one they we were told we were part of a holy war and need to kill non believers, I could not bring my self to kill some one over a difference in beliefs Hitler did that with his genocide of the Jews and other non-Christians. We must learn from our past and never repeat it!

  20. This is absolutely terrifying! I shared this on facebook, and I asked my family and friends to read and share it as well. There isn’t much we can say or do seeing as our president is a Muslim. It is no wonder that we have had so many tragedies since this man was elected. We need a Christian president, and the atheists need to shut up and accept that our country was founded on Christianity! It is the squeaky wheel that gets the oils, so let the Christians start squeaking!!

    • Our president is a Christian, and if he was a Muslim, who cares? Not all Muslims are bad, it’s the extremist Muslims you have to watch out for. Oh and this country wasn’t founded on Christianity, it was founded on the premiss of religious equality.
