  1. I don’t see how he can justify the statements that he made on the show. First, he tells how they deliberately obscured the true nature of the Affordable Healthcare Act, because otherwise it wouldn’t pass. Then he attributes it to “the stupidity of the american voter,” like being deliberately deceived is somehow our fault.

  2. I think that Americans are ignorant because we (and I’m speaking in generality) are able to live in our little bubbles and be okay with it. Too poor? Governmant handouts. Enough to survive? Move along and watch uneducational TV. Too Rich? Life is too good to notice anything around you.
It’s sad that politicians are able to “swoon” people and to take it at their word. For example our current president. Hope was his campaign. Hope for quadrupling national debt? Hope for lower jobs rates in the private sector?

President Obama blamed the Great Recession and the resultant poor economy on George W. Bush, but his economy is actually performing worse than Bush’s did. But swave words and a slick performance causes people to take a side and stick with it to the end. I have an aunt that thinks Obama is God’s grace to earth even though she is bouncing from job to job just to survive. But she gets a ton of food stamps and government bailouts and all sorts of stuff so she is living the life even though she can barely make rent.

  3. I have to say I partially agree with Gruber that Americans are dumb however, I would say they are dumb because of design, not of their own want or even need. Americans or better yet people are lazy and this is one of those things that those in power have taken advantage of. The average American’s attention span is less than that of a gold-fish. Do you think people WANT to be stupid? I dont think so. However, its all this social media that attributes to less and less attention being given when its comes to things that should be given the utmost attention. Professor Kollitz calls it all the time. There is a dumbing down of everything to make everyone more “equal” This in turn makes those that should strive for more achieve the same as those that didnt even contribute. This is turn results in the same type of society as seen in Atlas Shrugged. With all the overachievers gone will those that hardly even reach the already lowered standards step up to the “norm?”

  4. Its terrible that this is happening in our and country and people are being taken advantage of. What’s even worse is that Obama then acted as if Gruber had nothing to do with the creation of the law for Obamacare. Too much shady business in this whole business of getting a law to pass.

  5. Wow. Stupid. Hold on guys. I have to recover from such a statement. Who the hell does guy think he is?! Sounds like a greedy, corrupt son of gun! We need to elect people who are going to benefit us! Help the people! not fool them! Shame on him.

  6. These are the kind of people in the government now that take advantage of Americans however they can. People need to understand that these individuals are out for themselves and themselves only.

  7. This idiot! Why is he calling the American people stupid. This guy, if he had any intelligent thoughts would realize that. We as Americans can only do what’s best for us. If our government does not do right by us, as a way of Obama Care, then how are we stupid. We all know, no matter what are vote is, our Government is going to do what they want anyways. Hello..

  8. I always seem to see many people refer to the founding fathers as the holy and righteous. That things such as Gruber and obamacare are destroying our government. I would suggest for these people to dig deeper on the subject of the founding fathers and not rely on what they so far have been taught. Back on Gruber and obamacare, I do not agree on his statement of Americans being stupid. I find people to be very intellectual and with the current situation in our society, the reason why it would seem there is stupidity is because we as humans have used up our resources on other matters. See the average american has only twenty four hours in their day. We have to divide the day around on what has to be accomplished. I wont go deeper onto what exactly we do in the day, but the time spent on learning and comprehending the political scene is low. People like Gruber work with a group of others to sucessfully fool the average american. The problem here is that you are versus a groups elites that easily complicate your understanding. Why would anyone use up their valuable time to understand this. Especially when you have a family and multiple jobs. What these elites accomplish is only social devancement. They do not contribute to the human advancement in an efficient manner. It would be best to create a system in which cooperation was over the individual.

  9. It seems to me like Gruber is calling it like he sees it and I don’t think he’s wrong. Lack of transparency in government is a huge advantage for the bureaucrats running the government. This is one of the reasons our Founding Fathers crafted the Constitution the way they did. They tried to form a nation of citizens that would be able to have the means to prevent this kind of abuse from happening. Unfortunately, the majority has become either lazy or corrupt. It’s time for us to put our critical thinking caps on and change course. If we don’t do something about the corruption failure will be inevitable.

  10. The reason Democrats are running from Gruber is the same reason conservatives should be thanking him: Gruber has exposed what liberals really think of the American people.

  11. Reminds me of the character in Atlas Shrugged called Wesley Mouch. He is a typical bureaucrat that thrives as well as profits in a system that is ever larger. Government, as designed by our founding fathers, was meant to protect freedom, which if we don’t protect it from these type of politicians, we will lose forever.

  12. I agree and disagree with this statement. He cannot refer to the American voters as stupid if he himself states that they went out of their way to make this law sound as confusing possible to make it pass. He acknowledges the fact that he knew how impossible it would have been to make it happen so they sugar coated it to get it through. He also mentions that those who did understand it knew that it was a law that the healthy paid and the sick and poor reaked in all its benefits. It is just horrible to realize that our own government is making laws to take advantage of us now and they have no shame in it.
