Obama vs Catholic Church

Even those of us who are not Catholic by faith should all be concerned about Obama’s attack on freedom of religion.  My childhood friend sent me the following video and message:  “This is very interesting – it appears that it is coming about. The Catholic Church is a major roadblock in Obama’s quest to bring complete Socialism to the US of A.   This video explains why Obama and his minions must ‘divide and conquer’ the Catholic Church.  If you are Catholic, you need to watch it.  If not, you should see it anyway.  Our churches need to stand united!  This video is being sent out quickly with the hopes that it will get as far as it can before it is pulled by the ‘Powers that be.’  jk

When I went to connect the previous video, I found two more on the same subject. I also found one on Sean Hannity’s Fox News Show archives that is copyrighted and I couldn’t legally put it up. It is an interview from a week ago with Cardinal Dolan discussing how he is working with other major Protestant leaders about the attack on Freedom of religion. jk

  1. I’m iffy on this topic. Part of the reason is that I am bias- I am not a Christian, Catholic, or any of that who believes in a God of any form, but rather a Buddhist. However, I see Buddhism as an enlightenment rather then a religion so because of that and what vogangkt said, I think that the president is doing a brave and crazy thing.

  2. I agree with the whole freedom of religion and what not but it probably would be wise for Obama to let the people choose their own religious beliefs.

  3. The religious voice is becoming less and less heard because of the prevalent atheism that is nurtured by a naturalistic origin. I myself was an atheist at one point in my life, but I returned to Christianity because I was severely dissatisfied with my outlook on life. I do not know how this country will be once God has been thrown out, but I am assured that it will not be the utopia that they set out to achieve.

  4. so much for freedom of religion .

  5. Obama needs to get over him self.

  6. I may not be catholic, but Obama shouldn’t act in that matter. If Socialism has never worked in the past why keep trying? We should all be able to have our own ideas on religion and he should keep his to himself.

  7. The fist video makes President Obama look horrible. If the accusations against him are true then he has a lot of explaining to do. Unfortunately, Obama has enough support behind him to keep a lot of his true intentions hidden. Hopefully his attempts at socialism for the United States fall just like the attempts from other countries. Religion is necessary to those who believe in it. It provides hope to those who seek it. No one should be able to take that away.

  8. I am not sure if the president is aimming at the Catholic church to seperated it, but he sure is not trying to work out his policies to not offend religious people.

  9. Whatever happened to freedom of religion? This is one aspect of the constitution that quite a few individuals seem to be forgetting.

  10. It makes more sense to me how freedom of religion is involved in Obamacare. After watching this, Obamacare is obviously unconstitutional. It may seem like a good idea to give healthcare to everyone, yet it totally ignores people’s basic rights, and it’s not just the Catholic Church. Other religions will be affected as well. However, the Catholic Church seems to be the only church with major power, and the president’s major obstacle for a “socialist” America.

  11. I think a step towards socialism isn’t such a bad idea. If socialistic ideas where to take place, a lot of the problems we have now with our capitalistic society would not even exist. The gap between poor and rich would nearly close, and everybody would be of “equal class”

  12. Unbelievable. I don’t understand why Obama needs to mess with people religious views. Freedom of religion is a right that seems to be slipping away. I cannot wait for the day Obama is no longer president.

  13. So much for land of the free.

  14. I believe that it is all about freedom. If we allow the government to say to a church, for instance, “we don’t like your religious beliefs and as a result you know have to do something that goes against those beliefs”, on this issue, where does it stop? It is known that in the legal world precedent is vitally important. This would set the precedent that religious freedom is something that can be subverted if convenient for the government to do so.

  15. Just recently the Catholic church has rebutted against the move of government’s healthcare on these institutions, taking this action to courts. I’m just simply dumfounded at the current state of this government and the motives to create socialism. Why does the government see fit to make this country to be something completely different from that of the foundations that has built this country. We need to wake-up….NOW!!!

  16. Good, they should file a lawsuit. This is violating the constitution, I dont understand his thought process in this “match to socialism.” We’ll have to wait and see how far this goes. There is going to be a large debate and problem between the church and government.

  17. Soooo….IN GOD WE TRUST?

  18. The issue is violation of the freedom of religion guaranteed by the United States Constitution. Obamacare violates this right. There is no way to negotiate a solution–the government cannot regulate any person or group’s right to practice amy specific religion. Yesterday 43 Catholic organizations filed a federal lawsuit against the government in 12 separate states (5/21/2012).

  19. As long as everyone has freedom of religion, it would be fine..I think. The tension between Obama and Catholic church might cause another unnecessary fighting. I hope they deal with it wisely.

  20. The evidence shown here isn’t to definative of Obama trying to divide the chruch and crush it. Obama does have a Socalist agenda but he hasn’t really done anything to the chruch to make over riding decision on what they have to do. Legally the chruch has had nothing done to them yet, Obama is just starting to push his boundries with the chruch.

  21. Religion and politics are two topics that do not mesh well. Everyone is entitled to their own views, including the president.

  22. I don’t really know why evrybody makes a big deal over whether or not the president believes in religion or not. This country rather they like it or not was based and founded on Christian values. The president goes throught so much to get where he is and many people couldn’t even muster up a pinch of what Obama has done. No president is going to completely satisfy the world because that is impossible to do when so many people beleive in so many different things. All I say is that people need to stop hating on our president and try to change the world by themselves. Or try to run for president and see what it feels like for themselves. O yeah I am not a political person but I don’t see the need to fight over something that at the moment we as a nation cannot change…

  23. this is just another topic no one will truly want to face because it envolves to many conflicts.

  24. Religion is one of those subjects that nobody want to discuss because at least one person will always get offended.

  25. Most everything in our country is a choice. You choose what you want to believe and who you follow. Everyone has different opinions and the president isn’t going to please everyone. It would be impossible.

  26. Why try to take action and seak to achieve something that will never be achieved. It is clearly a right and writing in the Declartion of Independence as the first ammendment that we all have the right to freedom of riligion. You cannot force someone to believe or not believe in something if they do not wish to.

  27. Seems like this goes against everyhing this country once stood for. People have the right to decide what religion that want to follow if any, it’s been like that forever here in America and nothing should change that.

  28. This is amazing Obama is unbelievable because religion shouldn’t matter to do anything with this country. On the bright side he is almost out and lets see what this new president brings in. Because what Obama wants to do just to get his point across is all bad.

  29. The constitution protects the right to religion; FREEDOM of religion. Ruling against the constitution is taking away from the foundations that this country, this nation, is structured upon. There is a separation between church and state; any ruling that ultimately goes against what the constitution stands for and protects, is unjust.

  30. I believe that everyone should believe what they want. Almost everything that we do involves somewhat a religious essence, it is what has helped moved us forward, so to me this is like a shut out to religion. Not Cool Obama.

  31. Wow, Obama, just, wow. It is despicable that this man is doing so many unjust things just to get his points across. The constitution strictly says that there is a separation between church and state, so why does NOBODY get that? Our founding fathers didn’t even believe in the bible! I am sick and tired of things being an issue in this country when it is unconstitutional to make it so because it separates religious people from the country.

  32. President Obama is certainly entitled to his views, but he can’t break the law anymore than you or me. We are given the “right” of freedom of religion in the first amendment to the “Constitution.” The first amendment to the constitution says, ” Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably assemble, and to petition the government for the redress of grievances.” This is the law of the United States of America.

Congress was given limited rights under the constitution. Any right not given by congress is retained by the states. Your opinions about whether this is a republic or a democracy carries no weight under the law–only the facts count.

When congress ordered churches to not respect the “free practice” of religion, as in the case of “Obamacare,” the law becomes unconstitutional.

  33. I don’t think anyone should really care if Obama is religious or not. I think he should know everyone has their own beliefs and he should just do his damn job. And do it the right way.

  34. I am a Catholic and although all of these videos talk about how Obama is trying to divide up the Catholic church, it’s going to take a lot moer then one President to do that. I don’t think that they should single out one religion because i’m sure that Obama has different views on other religions too. Our country does have the right of freedom of religion which also includes the President and we can not look down upon his views.

  35. I don’t really know why evrybody makes a big deal over whether or not the president believes in religion or not. This country rather they like it or not was based and founded on Christian values. The president goes throught so much to get where he is and many people couldn’t even muster up a pinch of what Obama has done.
