Kiss GE Goodbye

The following was sent to me by a friend.  I gave up purchasing anything from GE some time ago, when this American corporation started undermining the American economy that made it great!

If only our media would report on news like this!!!

General Electric is planning to move its 115-year-old X-ray division from Waukesha , Wis. , to Beijing . In addition to moving the headquarters, the company will invest $2 billion in China and train more than 65 engineers and create six research centers. This is the same GE that made $5.1 billion in the United States last year. but paid no taxes-the same company that employs more people overseas than it does in the united States .

So let me get this straight. President Obama appointed GE Chairman Jeff Immelt to head his commission on job creation (job czar). Immelt is supposed to help create jobs. I guess the President forgot to tell him in which country he was supposed to be creating those jobs.

If this doesn’t show you the total lack of leadership of this President, I don’t know what does. Please pass this information to others and think about it before you buy a GE product.

This has been verified on Snopes.

  1. It’s sad to think that this is happening. Americans are dying for jobs and GE is giving jobs away. We need change in our country not in China.

  2. He should really worry more about our country than anyone elses.

  3. I mean, I guess it is good for the other people who are not from America getting these types of opportunities because they do not have the same opportunities as us. People from the US can also seek for these types of things so why not share these opportinities?

    • The problem with GE doing this is because Obama forced through a stimulus package of billions of $$$ supposed to be used to create American jobs and gave much of these funds to his buddies and supporters of the stimulus; GE spent its share of the money in China instead, leaving American taxpayers with the bill. If you are interested in more corruption you can go back in time and research this dirty little trick on taxpayers that has left us in debt as a nation.

  4. Reading this makes me a bit mad. Though the company’s president may be happy with his foreign employees, American citizens are left without the availability of the jobs by GE.

  5. it is crazy that we are suppose to be making jobs in the U.S but shipping such a big thing to china. It is also something that is making a lot of money that we need right now.

  6. The owner of GE is intelligent because it is more beneficial to hire workers oversea because it is a lot cheaper and they will work a lot more at a lower pay wage.

  7. I believe of the government stopped giving away our jobs to other people from other countries we would be in a much better place economically

  8. I think this company made a smart decision bussiness wise, but not one that would help out us Americans. It is sad how companies who choose to be stationed over seas usually only care about their own financial growth, and less about helping the US economy.

  9. GE is a smart company, they have to pay less money if they hire people from Chine. It’s ridiculious how Obama put the chairman of GE in charge of helpint create jobs for Americans, he seems to be doing the total opppsite.

  10. President Obama seems like a real screw up as a president because everything i have read about him has been a bad choice on his part. Why would Obama choose Jeff Immelt as the head of the job creation program if he gives all the U.S. jobs to people in other countries. This is a big factor in the United States’ horrible economy and needs to be changed fast.

  11. American companies should try to help out American people, not sell their jobs overseas to save money. This nation needs more workers and money flowing through the economy. This can’t happen if companies continue doing this.

  12. This really is frustrating! I see so many people struggling to find a job. I need to tell them the truth. They will hate this country. =(

  13. It’s sad when company move across seas and create job else where and leave the once employed jobless! I think that companies should realize what they’re doing and how it affects all those employees they had

  14. Doesnt America have the problems?

  15. It’s astonishing at what is happening to Major corporations here in the United States. Look what happened to NASA. There is an obvious issue and would not be surprised if our Government is the reason for this. Though many companies this size receive tax breaks, the grocery list of bureaucracy that such companies go through is more of a burden. Insurance, I would assume, is a major burden. There needs to some sort of action taken so that this is not a common occurrence.

  16. It’s too bad that great American companies are lifting up their roots and moving across seas in order to save a couple bucks. They are hurting the American people, who in turn are the ones who made GE what they are today.

  17. Ok, lets think about this. Where to start with all the underlying issues of this post. Unfortunetly people fail to read and research things before they speak. China’s artificial suppression of the value of its currency drive labor costs down and making it desireable to manufacture and export products coupled with a failing US school system has created the need for high tech business to either import workers or moved headquaters to places where they can find qualified workers. Vogangkt review the federal budget for both administrations look at spending in relation to GDP. Graph it then post your findings.

  18. I don’t see why everyone is hating on the president so much because he is probably making sure that China doesn’t try to attack us. You can’t be mad at him because he is trying to get this country on track after president Bush ran up our debt total. Yes, he is creating jobs, and yes they are in China, but at least he is creating jobs and not taking jobs. If you got something negitive to say about our president, i tell you to go run for office yourself and see how hard it is.

  19. All that comes to misd is the phrase “Help thy family before thy neighbor.”

  20. American business’ need to have PRIDE in their country and invest in it’s future and be given some icentive to stay. America is the birth place of the production line, the automobile, and for crying out loud Disney and Mcdonalds. This country used to make, yes i said make, the best products available and we used to do it right here at home with American resources. What happened to the quality that the 1950’s produced? It makes me sick to see everything made in China!

  21. The way that are Government does bessiness is horriable they have a differnet plan for every company based on what they make and who they know. Companies are fleeing from this country at there frist chance to make as much money as possiable. These companies do not care about where they are from, just that they get the biggest payday posssiable. It’s a shame that The President can’t pick advisors with pride in there nation.

  22. Why do people blame President Obama? With laissez-faire it makes sense that they leave the country because it will make them more money. If President Obama denies them the right to leave that would be wrong, right? If GE is set free to do what it wants in the country it could buy out competition, not care about quality since there is no competition, and not care to give benefits to the lowest workers. They would only care for the top executives and not everyone can rise to those positions because there are too few needed. So if the government gives incentives for them to stay isn’t that government involvement in business? If incentives are given then the government should have business give back to the people of the country and not let business keep all the rewards. In an ideal world job creators would give the workers their fair amount of the business profits to keep them happy but in reality the job creators tend to want to keep everything for themselves.

  23. With all the things that are made in foreign countries nowadays its sad to see what used to be a huge american company moving that way as well. Ill definitely steer clear of their products..

  24. Not only does this show how bad of a system we have but also it shows that there is truly no leadership when it comes to anything America has to offer.

  25. obama is not doing anything for this country he needs to stop being on espn giving advice and start fixing this corrupt country.

  26. America is corrupt

  27. It is sad that so many people in America are abandoned from jobs, when opportunities like this should be available to citizens here. Things like this would help our country!

  28. He ran on “Hope and Change.” Guess GE is HOPING to CHANGE to China. Very frustrating for the American worker. Hope that they take that frustration out in the next election.

  29. It seems that our government likes to keep a lot from us even would information like this could benefit us.

  30. why is everyone not already know this? instead of Obama letting this happen, he should stand up and do something about this. he promised us change for the better and he’s doing the exact opposite.

  31. wow honestly this makes the United States look bad based on our leadership skills. This Situation makes our country look like a weak country.

  32. Obama does nothing for this country. I dont understand why anyone even elected him in the first place. Just look at all the wonderfull and great things he is doing for us now….ya right.

  33. This just goes to show that the more we let corporate greed go unchecked they will take advantage of the system and undermine it at every chance they get.

  34. We talk about trying to put more jobs in America and we go and do something like this! This is frustrating why can’t we use that money to retrain American works.

  35. I thought it was America that had the problems?….
