Buy Food Grown in the USA: A Serious Warning

A friend sent this to me and she got it from an anonymous source…Jan Kollitz

FOOD WARNING: Research this further if you don’t believe it!

Now, I have to go to the store with a shopping list and a DO NOT BUY list.

I plan to look at my stuff a little more closely than I usually do!!

Smithfield Farms, the largest pork producing farm in the USA was sold in September to China with the unanimous support of its stockholders. The hogs will still be raised here, but slaughtered and packaged for sale there before being sent back here. This includes labels: of Morrell, Eckrich, Krakus, Cudahy , Premium Hams, Cook’s, Gwaltney. The same is true with chickens under these labels. They can now be shipped there, but when they come back all that needs to be on the label is that they… WERE RAISED IN THE USA . Not that they were processed in China . Our great FDA at work. The chickens under these labels will all be processed and most sold to fast food restaurants, schools and supermarkets. The China slaughter and processing requirements are, for the most part, unregulated and far inferior to requirements of the U.S.A.

We recently learned that Starkist Tuna is now owned by Korea and is in conflict with the U. S. concerning quality, safety, and records keeping, which Korea refuses to produce.

I read several articles on Google about this, and even one that was defending the eating of tilapia fish said to avoid the fish that came from China . Also, I had just returned home from buying Albertson’s 4-day special of 4 bags of frozen tilapia for the price of one. Sure enough, on the top of the bags it read “farm raised”, and on the bottom, in small print, it said:” China .

Recently, on TV, a Food inspector said he had lived overseas and he had seen the filthy conditions their foods are raised and processed in. It is enough to make you throw-up. Some foreign workers have to wear masks as they work in these places because the food is so rotten and filthy, it makes them want to throw up. Many of their fish on Fish Farms are fed raw sewage daily. He said he has seen so much filth throughout their food growing and processing that he would “never” eat any of it. They raise this filth, put some food coloring and some flavorings on it, then they ship it to the USA & Canada for YOU to consume and feed to YOUR families. They have no Food & Safety Inspectors. They ship it to you to buy and poison your families and friends.

Imported food we eat is junk :

Green Giant frozen vegetables are from China , and so are most of Europe ’s Best. Arctic Gardens are Okay. So is Birdseye.

Never buy the grocery store garlic unless it is clearly marked from USA or Canada , the other stuff is grown in people’s… dung (even worse than chicken poop). China is the largest producer of garlic in the world; U. S. is next.
Buy only local honey, much honey is shipped in huge containers from China and packaged here.

Cold-FX is grown and packed in China and is full of fecal bacteria. Doesn’t work anyway; it is a big scam.

If the country of origin on a product is not clearly marked “beware.” If the product is produce, ask an employee.

Watch out for packages which state “prepared for,” “packed by” or “imported by” or “distributed by.” We advocate mandatory labeling, especially the produce.

The country of origin should be clearly shown on the item in the store.

Go to the local farmers’ markets in season for your produce and keep a wary eye open the rest of the year.

Please read this very carefully, and read to the very bottom. It’s important for all of us.

The above facts indicate how is it possible to ship food from China cheaper than having it produced in the U. S. or Canada .

Beware, Costco sells canned peaches and pears in a plastic jar that come from China .

Recently The Montreal Gazette had an article by the Canadian Government on how Chinese feed the fish: They suspend chicken wire crates over the fish ponds, and the fish feed on chicken dung.

If you search the Internet about what the Chinese feed their fish, you’ll be alarmed; e. g, growth hormones, expired anti-biotic from humans. Never buy any type of fish or shellfish that comes from these countries: Vietnam , China , Philippines .

Check this out personally. Steinfeld’s Pickles are produced in India – just as bad!

Another example is canned mushrooms. No-Name brand comes from Indonesia …

Also check those little fruit cups. They used to be made in Canada , in the Niagara region, until about 2 years ago. They are now packaged in China . Most sold in Aldi stores.

While the Chinese export inferior and even toxic products, dangerous toys, and goods to be sold in North American markets, the media wrings its hands! Yet, 70% of North Americans believe that the trading privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended.

Why do we need the government to suspend trading privileges? THIS IS A YOURSELF PROJECT.

Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says ‘Made in China ‘ or ‘PRC’ (and that now includes Hong Kong ), simply choose another product or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without.

If 200 million North Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods, that’s a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor… fast! The downside? Some Canadian/American businesses will feel a temporary pinch from having foreign stockpiles of inventory.

Just one month of trading losses will hit the Chinese for 8% of their North American exports. Then they will at least have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness are worth it.

Share with your friends. Start reading labels more closely and buy something else even if it cost a few cents more… PLEASE, PLEASE, DO THIS.!!

  1. In a highly globalized world, nationalism and protectionism is on longer the method that a county should deploy when facing competition. Improve yourself as fast as you can is the right path. What is more, basing on economic theory if China has edge on something, let China do it. The US can focus on something the US do best. This will maximize the social surplus.

  2. Its disgusting what is considered food legally. This is unfortunate seeing as how that most of the FDA decisions seem to coincide with some form of financial relation. All the regulations and mergers all seem to be beneficial to someone financially. The FDA needs to take the health and well-being of the general people first over anything else!

  3. Its absolutely shocking what yhey feed the fish and we eat the fish. Fda need to regulate imports with more scrutiny so as to ensure the highest standard of food. Igs surprising now I trully do need a do not buy list, ifit proceeds I may consider going vegetarian.

  4. Okay… Yuck, what a bunch of Propaganda in America. American FDA should be ashamed of themselves. thank god I don’t eat fish. But what I did notice about the tilapia fish was, how it was so seriously frozen. (overly frozen) like it had been frozen for a long time and been sitting forever. YUCK on the US. Yuck…. -_ –

  5. The issue isn’t just the food that is being imported from china in packaged deals, but another underlying issue is GMO’s that are being fed to us in America and yet a large quantity of people have no clue what GMO’s are. It’s terrifying to think that even though genetically modified food is unnatural and dangerous to animas, the FDA is still allowing it to be sold to the people of our country.

  6. Now we know we’re not being sold U.S food I will be extra careful on what I buy from the grocery store as for the safety of my child .

  7. It is scary to think that we are not being told the 100% truth about what we are consuming. I have always believed that eating crops is very healthy but know i know it isn’t. I am also aware that GMO is something very serious and many food have it. I don’t even know what to trust anymore.

  8. I have been looking into the food industry for quite some time now, and this article that was shared is nothing compared to the reality. I have heard previously about the chicken coming from China, but it goes to show you that it is all a business.
Cancer rates are skyrocketing, and the FDA is doing nothing to change the food industry. It makes sense, being that if we get cancer, we will become patients with thousands of dollars in medical expenses.

I read an article in regards to labels saying “Wild Caught” for fish and shrimp, well unfortunately the regulations set allow farms to release their fish into the “wild” and they are caught there, so they are free to say “Wild Caught,” therefore tricking the consumer, because in reality the fish were actually farm raised.

Also, people need to be more aware of the cruelty these animals undergo while living in the slaughterhouses. They are malnourished and the food these animals are fed is disgusting. Due to the amount of diseases these animals are exposed to, they are given antibiotics. Can you believe that 80% of ALL the antibiotics distributed in the US are given to animals?! There have been cases of antibiotic resistance growing, what will the future hold?

Not only are the animals maltreated in the slaughterhouses, but many innocent lives are lost and endless injuries happening on a day to day basis. Most of the injuries go unreported, and those who claim that the FDA would not allow that, are wrong.

I wanted to go vegan for a while, but I realized people are not willing to listen in regards to “animal cruelty” when someone who doesn’t even eat meat is preaching about it. It is okay to eat meat products, but choose wisely. From what I have researched, Jack n’ the Box contains the safest meat within the fast food industry as well as Stater Bros, and Costco — they do not purchase their meat from the Midwest slaughterhouses.

I can go on about this topic for days, but I will just end my rant here.

  9. Thank you for the information. I’ve been trying to completely replace meat from my diet, because the horrible conditions. I do not want to be eating garbage. I encourage everyone to try to shop and eat better. Groceries look nice and clean, but the places where their products come from are absolutely horrible. American meat factories are not much better. We might have the FDA and certain laws, but our meat factories is still disgusting and very dirty.

  10. Extra regulations form our government isn’t the answer. People have a personal responsibility to take the effort in sensible purchases.

  11. Whenever possible, I buy locally sourced food. We do have stricter food regulations than many countries. Food labels are deceiving and purposefully misleading. Processed food isn’t good for the body anyway.

  12. All of this is sick! I never knew what people in China did to feed their animals. For some reason I was gullible enough to trust others thinking that their working environment would not be filthy, but rather clean since people buy their porducts! I will discuss these issuses with my family. However, I belive that one should do more research on this, I believe that they may have some clean places. I hope they do.

  13. I knew about this a long time ago. That is why i keep telling my family to read the lable and if it said made in china, do not buy it. I also read an article about MSG ingredients, and i found that it is not good for consumption, so watch out for those too.

  14. Wow this caught me off guard because I always assumed whatever was approved by the FDA was sanitary enough for someone to eat but apparently not. It’s problematic how dependent we have become on China. As a nation, we need to stop consuming so much from foreign countries and become more independent.

  15. i am glad that my parents always try to find fesh food from the US. Its dumb that it can be raised here then processed in China. I wish that we would just grow all our own food instead of relying on other countries to feed us. We have to clue what standards the other countries have, but it can’t be very good.

  16. Wow! What an eye-opener. I have recently changed my diet to include more fresh fruits vegetables and lean meat. My goal to eat foods that have no ingredients. I have noticed a lot of fish and seafood being labeled ‘farm raised’ but it does not state where. i wll be ever more diligent in reading the labels on food that i buy for my family. thank you for this information.

  17. China should not be making money off the U.S economy even if we are in debt with them. I agree with the theme of this post; Start buying American products and more perferenced California products. I would rather grow my own fresh supplies then have American goods shipped to china to be processed.

  18. I agree with Joanna. I started looking carefully at the labels on fresh food more carefully. Mostly I found grown in California, but now I’m checking everything I buy.

  19. It’s sad to know that many of the things we put into our bodies are harmful and not many people realize it. The FDA is supposed to be there to determine what foods are safe, but it seems that all they care about is a cheap price. Society is very dependent on China not only with with the food but with all other merchandise. I have always looked close at the food labels but now I will be extra careful.
